It’s a lite version, but I’m not sure what the big difference is; It is necessary to do basic things, clear codes. The application has a good interface, and may not be able to use third-party applications.

I received this offer via email, but I believe it should work while supplies last. They sell for free, with shipping only, for about $5.

I am currently using it with the Torquey app. Although the interface of the Torque app is definitely not that pretty.
The billing page (and confirmation page) shows $4.79. Paid by PayPal and shows $5.41. Of course I think they will send them.
Tempted to order one. Mixed reviews on Amazon.com. The check engine light does not read codes. Fakespot Section D.

Thanks, I ordered one and got a confirmation email right away. I wonder if this will tell me why my check engine light is always on!

I doubt if you are selling analytics data related to your car. Nothing is free.

However, I’m not sure it will do any work without paying for the pro version of the app. Is it worth driving?

Don’t you hate it when the check engine light comes on? Sometimes it’s the hard stuff that needs major maintenance, but often it’s the easy stuff. Figuring out what’s going on (and whether or not you can fix it yourself) generally means going to a mechanic; Often times, they will charge you to connect your vehicle to the diagnostic machine even if it is not repaired! The Nonda ZUS Smart Vehicle Monitor Mini can help, and you can get it for free – you pay the shipping costs.
Four years ago I reviewed the Nonda ZUS Smart Car Tracker and USB Car Charger; It comes with more features than usual – including automatic car finder, parking time alert, distance log, ability to share your parking space and battery health monitoring. Since then, they’ve introduced the $59.99 ZUS Smart Vehicle Monitor Mini

The ZUS Smart Vehicle Monitor Mini is a plug-and-play device that automatically records your trip after installation (and can easily export IRS-compliant reports at tax time), monitors your engine’s health with real-time alerts, and scans. Read your car and check codes every time the check engine light comes on (each vehicle error code comes with a complete diagnosis and video tutorial for easy repair), clear the error codes after solving the problem, analyze driving habits, help you track and record. Your car details, and yes — it can also help you find a parked car. The only thing it can’t do is charge your smartphone. 😉
The ZUS Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Mini package comes with simple instructions, a small black OBD-II connector and a top cover.
All you have to do is slide the cover over the part where all the small boards are visible and expose the OBD-II pin.
Now, if you don’t know where it is, it’s time to locate your vehicle’s OBD-II port. I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and my port is open on the left side on the driver’s side. Yes, I know it’s hard, and my Jeep is dirty; In my defense, I live on a ranch, and this

Once you do this, the ZUS Smart Vehicle Monitor Mini will start receiving data from your vehicle’s system.
You’ll notice that there are three dots at the bottom of the dashboard screen. The first screen shows what’s going on in your system. Not much info yet as I’m sitting in my car (and just plugging in the module).
As I drive my vehicle over time, the next screen expands with more information. For example, it shows how much time my engine spends idling, how much time I spend on acceleration, although to be fair – it shows that driving at 55 and 60 mph is very efficient when you press the pavement. Our freeway speed limits are 70 to 80, and because of the pandemic I’m only on them once a week when I take my angel to the grocery store, but because of that I show more “fast driving”. Quick acceleration and hard braking are the next tiles, and they basically let you know if you’re driving quality or trying to take the title of “Lead-Foot Lipsett” from me (ha – good luck with that!) High RPM If you’re normally driving in the most economical RPM range. It lets you know.
The final dashboard page has tiles where you can add more system checks that you want to monitor. However, due to OBD-II data limitations, a warning will appear stating that the more tiles you add, the smaller each item will be.

Perhaps the best feature, however, is under Security under the root menu. Clicking on it will prompt you to run your first full system scan.
My Jeep didn’t come with a backup camera, but I added an aftermarket one, which doesn’t show up.
My vehicle has been well maintained but has had minor issues in the five years I have owned it. If something is found during the scan, the app will explain what’s going on and walk me through a tutorial on what to do to fix it—on my own, if possible. There are currently over 150 video tutorials showing you how to edit each p-code yourself, with over 250 more videos coming soon. If any of my scans return an error code in the future, the corresponding DIY video will be displayed in my app and emailed to you.
There are no hidden fees to use the Smart Vehicle Monitor Mini, and the only data collected by the ZUS app is the data needed to provide the features you use. For example, if I’m going to use the Mileage Log feature for tax deductions, the ZUS app will record the locations and times of my trips to meet IRS requirements. If I use the Auto Car Finder feature, it uses location information from my connected device to record my parking spot, even in the most obscure locations.
